Le Figaro. - After Richard Malka awarded in 2020, the national prize of the Committee Laïcité République was awarded to Rachel Khan for her book “Racée”. Why this choice ? How do you think it defends French secularism?
The prize was awarded to Rachel Khan because for the past few years, like her, we have been denouncing all these attempts to racialize our society, which are carried by elected officials or various personalities.
When the jury met under the chairmanship of Gérald Bronner, his name quickly became obvious.
Rachel Khan's courage in speaking out against her attempts to racialize our choice was instrumental in our choice.
