Britney Spears spoke to her fans about her intentions to move forward after being released from her legal guardianship last week and thanked #FreeBritney activists for their support.

This Tuesday, Spears, 39, posted a two-minute video on the social network Instagram to answer questions about her life after the guardianship.

In the description of the photo, he joked that he would give his followers a "hint" of what he thinks before "setting the record straight" on Oprah, referring to speculation that he may want to do an interview to talk about his situation.

"Honestly,

I am grateful for every day, for being able to have the keys to my vehicle and being able to be independent, feel like a woman

: have a card to use the ATM, see cash for the first time, be able to buy candles," she explained Spears.

“They are small things for us women, but they make a big difference.

And I am grateful for that, ”she added.

Since 2008, the international pop star has been under a guardianship, which

legally prevented him from making medical and financial decisions.

Until September, her father, James 'Jamie' Spears, acted as administrator of her estate for most of those 13 years of guardianship.

A judge decided on Friday to end the guardianship, six months after Spears gave public testimony in which she described her as traumatic and abusive.

Representatives for Jamie Spears have repeatedly denied the abuse allegations and have said that he has only acted in the best interest of his daughter.

Britney Spears is released from her father's guardianship and will be able to select a replacement

Sept.

Fans of the singer promoted the #FreeBritney movement on social media and the campaign garnered national attention in 2019. Spears addressed the movement in her video Tuesday night.

"Honestly,

my voice was silenced and threatened for a long time, and I wasn't able to speak or say anything,

" Spears said.

“And thanks to you (…) who knew what was happening, they spread that news to the public for so long and made it known.

Thanks to you, I sincerely believe that in a certain way you have saved my life, 100%, "he added.

Spears also noted that she doesn't want to appear like a victim and that she wants to be an "advocate for people with real disabilities and real illnesses."

Many within the #FreeBritney movement have said that they would like to continue to focus on reforming guardianship agreements and custody agreements.

Spears'

case

has inspired more scrutiny on the system

, including a congressional hearing in September.

"I'm a very strong woman, so I can only imagine what the system has done to those people," Spears said.

"So hopefully

I hope my little story has an impact and makes some changes to the corrupt system," he

said.
