It's a drink from the bottle: the Greens and CDU want to create over 2,400 new jobs in the coming year.

The government apparatus will also be increased by almost five percent.

Stuttgart - With the 2022 budget, the green-black government wants to create a total of 2,434 new jobs.

At the latest meeting of the budget commission, the leaders of the Greens and the CDU approved another 237 new posts in view of the additional tax revenue.

About 25 of them are in the ministries, as the German Press Agency learned from the coalition in Stuttgart.

The bottom line is that the 2022 budget will create around 182 new positions in the government apparatus.

Since the beginning of the Greens 'government in 2011, the ministries' staff has increased by around 1,100 posts to 4,000.

The opposition accuses the government of inflating the apparatus further and further.

The lion's share of the new jobs will be created in the judiciary, schools and health departments.

The draft budget already stated that 450 posts in the penal system and courts should be added.

There should be 184 positions for the health authorities, some of which were heavily overloaded during the Corona crisis.

Minister of Education Theresa Schopper (Greens) was not satisfied with the 212 new positions planned so far.

They should primarily serve to relieve school administrators and teachers for classes in which handicapped and non-handicapped children learn together.

Now there are another 150 new teaching positions: 50 for the illness reserve, 50 more for inclusion, 25 for the full-day expansion and 25 to cope with the foreseeable increase in the number of students.

That is actually too little for Schopper.

Her ministry had calculated that 254 new jobs would be needed just because of the increase in students.

The minister also did not get through with her wish to pay temporary auxiliary teachers over the summer holidays.
