Today, the Ministry of Tourism and the Federal Science Foundation of the Russian Federation-Republic of Crimea signed a memorandum of understanding stipulating the strengthening of tourism cooperation between the two sides in the field of ecotourism and benefiting from the expertise possessed by the Foundation in the field of establishing parks and ecotourism sites.
The agreement, which was signed on the Syrian side by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Eng. Ghiath Al-Farrah, and on the Russian side, Yuri Vladimirovich Belgatar, includes the establishment of joint technical cooperation to develop the ecotourism sector and the establishment of ecotourism paths in Syria by preparing the necessary technical studies, planning the use of suitable lands and sites, and providing the necessary advice from the technical team. In Nikita Gardens for the preparation of the project of the eco-park site “Kiwan Land”, which is being established by the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Governorate of Damascus.
In a statement to SANA’s delegate, Eng. Al-Farrah stated that Syria has many areas that can be used as reserves or tourist parks, and the Russian side has extensive experience in this field, indicating that it relies on the agreement on the issue of promoting ecotourism and launching awareness campaigns on environmental areas in Syria, in addition to benefiting from their expertise on the issue of treating areas that It has been exposed to fires, developed and re-invested, whether as forests or agricultural areas in the future.
