The death of a legend:
Aaron Aspis, author of the mathematics books, those who were in almost every home in Israel, passed away after a battle with cancer and he is 87. His funeral will take place today (Wednesday) at 15:00 in the Menochat Olam cemetery in Netanya.
At the beginning of his career, Aharon Aspis was a mathematics teacher at the E Urban School in Tel Aviv.
In 1975 he published the first mathematics book and was followed by many more.
Aspis' books, which dealt with perhaps the most threatening topics for students such as algebra, statistics and probability, were self-published and were characterized by a uniform cover design centered on an isosceles triangle at the base and inside the book's name.
Aspis's Algebra Book,
His daughter, Orit Adar Bachar, praised him on the Internet: "My father, Aharon Aspis, passed away yesterday afternoon after a long and heroic battle with cancer. He was a great math teacher and a wonderful educator and there was no lesson that he did not start talking about what he really liked to talk about - politics and sports." .
She even shared what she went through as a student: "I also learned from his books and it was strange. In the years when I was still called Orit Aspis, not a day went by that people did not refer, ask, wonder if it was a living man, young (then) and having a family."
She also wanted to tell about the man who wrote books that many consider gray: "Most of his life, he was happy, energetic, healthy and with no desire for life. Only in recent years, he fell ill, struggled like a hero and in the end could no longer."
