Within the activities of the Community Support Matrix campaign, the Tartous City Council, in cooperation with a number of public sector companies and the Al-Batool Association for Humanitarian Services, organized cleaning and tree planting work for a number of service facilities within the city.
Volunteers and mechanisms from the local community, the Batoul Association, the Environment Directorate, the Sanitation Company, the Technical Services Directorate and the Tartous City Council participated in the campaign.
In statements to SANA's reporter, Jaber Hassan, a member of the Executive Office in Tartous Governorate, said that the aim of the campaign was to promote a culture of partnership between the local community and service institutions.
The director of solid waste management in the governorate, Engineer Wissam Issa, explained that the purpose of the local community’s participation in the campaign’s activities is to maintain cleanliness, expressing his hope that all citizens will abide by the laws and rules of hygiene, while the Maintenance Director of Tartous City Council Hamid Hassan pointed to the importance of the campaign, expressing hope that the participating parties will be able to participate in it. The director of the old city of Tartous, Mervat Othman, explained the importance of holding the campaign in the old city, which constitutes an important tourist landmark.
The day before yesterday, Baniyas City Council organized a number of activities, cleaning and planting trees for several service facilities in the city, as part of the campaign activities that were launched in the governorate on the 14th of this month and include the implementation of specialized service weeks in various sectors.
