Despite the context of inflation and shortages, 84,667 companies were created this month, a rebound of 6.7%.
In comparison, this number had fallen by 1.9% in September (revised figure) according to INSEE.

Entrepreneurs have given preference to small structures.
Among these new enterprises, 54,442 are micro-enterprises, that is to say a share of 64.7%.

Registrations of microentrepreneurs are picking up (+ 8.1% in October after -3.7% in September) and traditional business creations are increasing again (+ 4.4% after + 1.4%)

Business creations have “
significantly increased
” in the business support sectors (+ 11.5%), as well as in household services (+ 13%), details INSEE.

In total, over the last twelve months, the total number of companies created is "
up sharply by 21%, in particular due to the particularly low level of creations during the first confinement in 2020
", underlines the institute. Over one year, business start-ups have, for example, increased by 23% in the industrial sector, by 21.9% in construction, or even by 24.3% in trade, transport, accommodation. and catering.
However, the cumulative number of companies created during the last three months (August to October) “
decreased compared to the same months a year earlier (-1.8%).
The creations of individual businesses under the microentrepreneur regime decreased (-2.6%) as did the creations of traditional individual businesses (-9.4%).
