Covid-19: don't panic to get vaccinated in Paris

2021-11-17T14:15:45.542Z

While recalling the vaccine against the coronavirus is already requested of those over 65, and soon to those over 50, it remains easy.

The launch of the Covid-19 vaccination at the start of the year was painful in Paris.

The mayor (PS), Anne Hidalgo, never ceased to criticize the management of the crisis by the government of Emmanuel Macron, stressing having deployed 19 centers throughout the capital but sorely lacking in doses.

“We should get 10,000 for the first week.

This is too little, because Paris has 170,000 inhabitants over 75 years old.

At this rate, it would take 34 weeks to vaccinate them all, ”she said on January 14.

While a new booster dose is now necessary for over 65s and the most vulnerable people to maintain their health pass, are we heading towards a new shortage in Paris?

One hour after Emmanuel Macron's speech, on November 9, 100,000 appointments had been made across France on Doctolib.

But for now, slots are still easily found in the capital.

Still 13 centers made available by the City

This Wednesday, more than 700 appointments were for example available for Friday, according to the website Vite ma dose, in 34 different places. Places are also already available for December, when the new recall will have to be done by those over 50. Among the places offered, 13 centers set up by the City of Paris, which had deployed up to 28. But over the weeks, demand weakened, they ended up closing one after the other, including the Vaccinodrome of Station F.

In these centers, "no difficulty of supply, assures the City. The dose allocation varies each week according to the requests. During the week of November 15, 3,560 vials or 23,140 doses were delivered. Last week and this week, a second delivery was organized for the centers which had additional needs following the influx observed after the announcements of the President of the Republic. »Centers that have therefore been able to cope. To get your place there, the easiest way is to go to Doctolib, or to the platform set up by the government, sante.fr. Otherwise, just call 39 75.

As for pharmacies and doctors, no difficulty in supplying either, a priori.

"Our problem is not to receive the doses or to find patients, but to have staff to carry out the injections", we confided in a pharmacy in the 17th arrondissement.

Too time-consuming, and not profitable enough according to some compared to the tests, several pharmacists admit to having stopped offering the vaccination.

However, even today, 36% of doses are injected in Paris via city medicine and pharmacies.
