The six-year-old who survived the cable car disaster is expected to return to his aunt in Italy • His grandfather, Shmuel Peleg, appeals - and says in an interview with "Shishvat": Hopefully the court will leave him in Israel

After the Tel Aviv Family Court ruled that he had abducted his grandson, Eitan Biran (6) from Italy, the only survivor of the cable car disaster in Italy, Shmuel Peleg was allowed to see the grandson only under the auspices of the Ministry of Welfare's contact center.

"The situation is not easy for Peleg, Lt. Col. (Res.), Who lost his daughter Tal, his grandson Tommy and his son-in-law Amit six months ago in the disaster." The appeal to the Supreme Court, “Since Eitan was taken from me by the court order, I have felt disappointed with me.

He stopped hugging me and jumping on me.

I see how the open and chatty child, who did not stop talking about how happy he is to live in Israel, closed himself.

The heart is torn.

"I promised Eitan that he would live with us, but the court ruled otherwise."

Eitan Biran,

This week, Shmuel spoke for the first time with Eitan about his expected return to Italy: "I gently asked how he was feeling, but Eitan sealed up and said he did not want to talk about it. It seems to me that he is preparing to cut himself off from us. It is his defense mechanism. "With him about his parents. I told him I would come to visit Italy."

It is not certain that Samuel will be able to keep this promise, certainly not in the near future.

About a week ago it was reported in Italy that the prosecutor in the city of Fabia, where he lived with Eitan with his parents, had issued an international arrest warrant against him.

As soon as Shmuel's foot is briefed in the boot country, he will be arrested for a criminal investigation on suspicion of kidnapping.

Is the order and the investigation in Israel on suspicion of kidnapping worth the risk?

"If Eitan's freedom means my lack of freedom, then yes. His goodness comes first. A miracle happened to us and God managed to save him once. I tried a second time and in the meantime failed. I hope the Supreme Court orders Eitan to remain in Israel."

The legal systems in Italy and Israel have not accepted your insistence that Eitan's place of residence should be in Israel.

Why do you think this will change at the top?

"I hope the Supreme puts his good in the center. One day, not very far away, Eitan will read on Google about the struggle around him. He will see there that I fought for him to the end, and that at no point did I give up."
