The cost of the new Tegernsee fire station has now been calculated at a good 15 million euros.
It could get even more expensive, as the city council has now shown.
For Ursula Janssen (Greens) this was an occasion for critical comments.
Tegernsee - When the building authority manager Bettina Koch quoted the current quarterly report of the commissioned Stuttgart project tax company Drees & Sommer in the city council, the members of the committee had no choice but to take note of the figures.
It states that the contract award budget has already been exceeded, even though only two thirds of the work has been awarded.
“The master builder rode us in,” said Koch.
“They are significantly more expensive than calculated.” For example, the trades awarded to date are 7.9 million euros, and the budget was calculated at around 6.8 million euros.
We shouldn't accept this in silence.

Ursula Janssen (Greens) warned not to accept this tacitly.
You are aware that the three reasons mentioned, namely the corona situation, the current shortage of raw materials and the shortage of skilled workers, have to be taken into account.
In view of the cost development from 6.2 million euros initially estimated in the feasibility study, over 8.5 million euros in 2019, to 12.5 million euros in 2020 and now a forecast of 15.2 million euros, one has to ask where the causes actually lie.
The long and thoroughly conscientious planning should be mentioned here.
"In view of further major projects, we have to think about how we can avoid such undesirable developments in the future."
Comparison drawn with the Waakirchen fire station
Ursula Janssen drew a comparison with the people of Waakirchen, who had built a fire station with five gates and three rental apartments for 3.8 million euros. You compare "apples with pears," countered Markus Schertler (CSU). Both the size and the requirements for the fire brigade itself as well as the property are to be assessed differently in Tegernsee than in Waakirchen. But: "We have to accept the additional costs." A backward row is not possible, so Schertler, parliamentary group colleague Andreas Feichtner saw in view of "building material costs that go through the roof" only a solution for future large projects: from the beginning a cost buffer of 200 to 300 Plan in percent.
While Andreas Obermüller (FWG) found that Tegernsee had given enough thought, Florian Kohler (BürgerListe) took the opportunity to renew his stance: "The fire station is oversized." Nevertheless, he also blamed the state for the development Pump money into the economy and drive inflation.
What could have been different? When asked after the meeting, Mayor Johannes Hagn (CSU) comments on this: "If you start planning in 2014 and build in 2021, then it is clear that the costs will go up." Of course there was a time delay, "but we will had to take our time because we also responded to all objections in the city council. ”With regard to costs, Hagn explained that the city is planning a provision of ten percent per order. These sums are included in the 7.9 million euros. "When the construction is finished, I'll be happy to take stock," says Hagn, "now we have to see that we stay on schedule." A comparison with Waakirchen could not be drawn. In addition, the fire brigade would have further tasks in the future, also with regard to flood protection.
He could not give an outlook on how the project will develop.
For Hagn one thing is certain: "It is money well spent."
