The ultra-Orthodox writer and media man Haim Velder was suspended today (Wednesday) from Kol Chai radio, the ultra-Orthodox radio station on which he broadcast.
This is in light of the Haaretz investigation published last weekend, in which serious allegations were made alleging sexual exploitation of minors.
In a series of testimonies, Velder's name is allegedly linked to a relationship with a 12-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old young woman.
Velder, 52, presented on the radio station the program "Tips from Life" which is very popular.
In the program, he often deals with current content, as well as personal stories.
In addition, he writes a column in the newspaper "Yated Ne'eman" and is responsible on behalf of the Bnei Brak municipality for the center for children and families, which helps at-risk youth.
He is a best-known author in the ultra-Orthodox sector, and has written about 80 books, some of which are classics that are considered almost a must in every home.
Mordei Getz, the general manager of the Eichler's store in Brooklyn, which sells Judaica products and Jewish books, also decided to remove the author's books from the shelves, in light of the allegations made against him.
His books will no longer be available in the physical store in Brooklyn, or on its website.
"This is not a decision taken lightly," the night rebels wrote in a tweet from his Twitter account.
"And it will not provide will bring with it heavy economic consequences."
