Due to increased costs, the entrance prices for the Freisinger fresch have to be adjusted - but only moderately, according to the works committee.

Freising

- The fresch went into operation in 2019.

But what was assumed at the time as the basis for structuring admission prices no longer corresponds to reality.

Because personnel and energy costs in particular have risen significantly in recent years, prices will now be increased from January 1, 2022.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

3.5 million euros annual deficit

The works committee for the in-house operation of the municipal utilities decided on Tuesday.

Stadtwerke boss Andreas Voigt stated that attempts had been made to “counteract” the rising operating costs.

However, increased material and energy costs, as well as the so-called “Freising allowance” for staff, cannot be compensated.

The annual deficit of the fresch amounts to around 3.5 million euros.

In order to absorb at least part of the losses, "a certain price adjustment" is planned, according to Voigt.

For example, the two-hour ticket for the indoor swimming pool season should no longer cost 4.50 euros, but from January 1 it will cost 5.50 euros.

And two hours of sauna (including indoor and outdoor pools) will then cost 18 instead of the previous 15 euros.

Works officer Ulrich Vogl (ÖDP) did not go far enough with the staggering of these prices for three- and four-hour tickets as well as for a day ticket in the sauna area.

It goes without saying that it is not a good thing to have to raise prices.

But: On the one hand, they started 2019 with very low prices, and on the other hand, they offer “premium class”.

Providing a family bathroom is a kind of obligation

It is important that the entry prices for the outdoor and indoor pools are only increased moderately (a day ticket for adults will soon cost ten euros), because offering a family pool is something of a city's duty. But things look different with the sauna, which is definitely a luxury offer. He therefore finds the graduation of 1.50 euros more per hour up to 22.50 euros for a day ticket provided in the Stadtwerke's proposal too low. Vogl suggested that the new two-hour price of 18 euros should be increased by three euros each time - in other words: three hours 21 euros, four hours 24 euros, day ticket 27 euros. Above all, this is a “signal”, according to Vogl, that the sauna area will not be blocked for the whole day, but that there will be a change of visitors. That is especially in Corona times,if you can only offer 100 places in the wellness area anyway, that's important.

Jürgen Mieskes (CSU) agreed.

Richard Grimm (FW) and Lord Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher were also able to understand the argument.

Nevertheless, the mayor struggled "with such a big leap".

His compromise proposal, which Voigt also found good: the price scale in the sauna area will be 2.50 euros for adults starting from 18 euros, and two euros for children and reduced tickets starting from 16.50 euros for a two-hour ticket.

And so it was decided unanimously.
