Hikes in and around Poing: 15 routes now available digitally and free of charge.
The Poinger Herbert Rauch worked out the tours.
Poing - those who have Herbert Rauch in their community can consider themselves lucky.
In the past few years, the Poinger has written several bicycle guides as a book author and has also worked out cycling and hiking tours in and around Poing on a voluntary basis.
The descriptions are available free of charge on the website www.poing.de - he has now added five more hiking trails.
There are now 15 tours.
Rauch digitized all of them with the free Komoot software, with GPS maps for navigation systems and smartphones, informs the town hall in a message.
The descriptions also include route lengths and refreshment stops.
Poing: hiking in the Munich gravel plain
The hikes in the Munich gravel plain (in which the municipality of Poing is located) leads to all sorts of gems, such as a toad biotope (near Lindach), and to vantage points from which you can either see the Alpine chain (from the Neufarner Berg) or countless different species of birds (at the reservoir in Landsham).
The starting point of the hikes is either directly in front of your own doorstep or by S-Bahn, bus or car to starting points such as in Ottersberg, Markt Schwaben or Ottenhofen (Erding district, neighboring community of Markt Schwaben).
In Ottenhofen, for example, there is the private Meillerpark - an idyllic place with a watercourse, mighty trees and lots of greenery.
Poing: views and gems
The hiking trails are manageable for all generations, there are no great inclines thanks to the gravel plain.
In return, cozy places to rest and let your thoughts wander.
For example on benches on the way from the sports center via Schwabener Straße to the Langhof (horse farm), on to Ottersberg and the Plieninger community cemetery.
From there the round leads back over the dirt road past the biogas plant and the apiary to the Westring.
In Herbert Rauch's online directory, this is "Tour 7: Via the northern line".
Or how about not going into the wildlife park, but around the outside?
The tour “Around the Wildlife Park” leads along a spring stream and (in good weather) with a view of the mountains in the Lindach Forest and past the forest kindergarten there.
Route length: 8.5 kilometers.
