Hong Kong (CNN) -

Hong Kong Disneyland closed Wednesday, forcing staff and visitors to undergo COVID-19 testing after a recent visitor tested positive for the virus.

On Tuesday, the Hong Kong government issued a mandatory test notice for those who visited the park between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on November 14.

The tests were to be carried out before November 18, according to a statement posted on its website.

Under current covid containment measures in Hong Kong, all customers visiting restaurants, cinemas and other venues must register using a local tracking app.

People identified as close contacts of someone who tested positive for COVID-19 must be tested for the virus and may be placed in mandatory quarantine.

Last month, Disneyland Shanghai and its business district, Disneytown, were subjected to sudden lockdown affecting tens of thousands of visitors and staff after a single confirmed case.

Authorities conducted massive tests before allowing visitors to leave the park.

Hong Kong Disneyland was closed for five months at the start of the pandemic, but reopened in May 2020, requiring visitors to book early, undergo temperature controls and wear face masks.

In the last 18 months there have been other closures related to the covid.

Disney parks around the world have reopened after the first confinements due to the pandemic, but they maintain some restrictions due to covid-19.
