The Hechendorf initiative led by management consultant Dr.

Volker Behrendt started another survey in October 2021.

However, not among the population, but the eleven of the 20 councilors who live in Hechendorf.

Hechendorf - "We received answers from all parliamentary groups in which Hechendorfer are represented," said Behrendt (78).

That would be CSU, BVS, Greens / BI and SPD.

Accordingly, the FWG and FDP are missing.

Topics of the survey: the construction of a supermarket in Hechendorf.

And building a clinic.

BI Hechendorf had already started a survey on its own in 2019, parallel to the location development process.

At that time it was about the revitalization of the Seefeld district.

1200 questionnaires were distributed, 120 people answered.

At that time, Behrendt presented the results in the Bürgerstadl; he himself spoke of a “material collection”.

But now he wanted to get to the bottom of the attitude of the councils to the construction of a supermarket and the clinic.

The Ginder family has been running a small grocery store in Hechendorf for many years.

It is under discussion to establish a further full-range supplier in addition to apartments adjacent to the Sportpark am Oberfeld.

“We definitely need it,” says Behrendt.

And wanted to know whether politicians see it that way.

All political groups replied to the survey - some of the answers were voted on in the group, and some were given by the chairperson. "All of the municipal councils addressed pointed out that they of course feel responsible not only for Hechendorf, but also for the entire Seefeld municipality," reports Behrendt.

Three parliamentary groups had supported the construction of a new supermarket in Hechendorf. One parliamentary group, however, wanted to strengthen or consolidate the Ginder family's business in view of the new weekly market and various delivery services. The parliamentary group fears that with another supermarket, inner-city traffic will increase and that shopping tourism from neighboring communities and delivery traffic will also be generated. “The existing public transport is not used enough. Only a location in the surrounding landscape protection area or the immediate proximity to residential areas is seen as a potential location, ”Behrendt summarizes the attitude of the parliamentary group.

The three proponents propose locations on the outskirts that require little space (underground parking) and are easily accessible; one parliamentary group expressly prefers the location in the center of the village. The parliamentary groups wanted the operator to have a regional reference, "the trade tax should remain in the community". According to Behrendt, there were also inquiries from supermarket operators for Hechendorf. "But no statement can be made about the time of an opening."

The survey on the clinic overlapped with the new development. As reported, all three locations (Schindlbeck Clinic and Seefelder Straße in Herrsching and the area next to the new cemetery in Hechendorf) are still in the running. Most recently, however, District Administrator Stefan Frey spoke of a positive development with a view to the negotiations on Seefelder Strasse. However, nothing has been officially decided. The municipal councils see primarily positive effects, starting with new possibilities, if the clinic location in the center of the village is closed, up to a means of pressure, which concerns the barrier-free expansion of the train station. At the moment, however, it does not look as if it will be implemented in Hechendorf.

Behrendt is satisfied with the results of the survey.

But he is also surprised that the topic has not yet been officially dealt with.

In Behrendt's 2019 survey, the citizens wanted more extensive shopping opportunities in town.

“In urban areas of Munich, a supermarket seldom supplies more than 2,000 people.

We have 3,500 people. We are convinced that we have to think about it. ”The weekly market cannot provide the supply.

Overall, the situation generates more traffic than necessary because the people lead to the neighboring communities.

"We'll stay tuned to the topic."
