The Corona situation in the Free State is serious.

From Tuesday, stricter corona rules will apply in Bavaria - what that now means for the population.

Munich - The incidences in Bavaria are skyrocketing.

Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) therefore declared the disaster last week.

The clinic traffic light is red. The number of corona deaths is also increasing.

A comparatively high proportion was even fully vaccinated in October.

Due to the worrying situation, the ministers have agreed to tighten the rules.

Bayern will have to adjust to changes as early as Tuesday (November 16).

Corona in Bavaria: New rules come into force on Tuesday

A nationwide 2G rules should come into force on November 16, as the Ministry of Health announced on Friday in Munich. The current measures must be intensified as a matter of urgency. "The current situation is extremely dramatic and worrying," said Minister Klaus Holetschek. "Only with consistent access restrictions such as 2G can we succeed in protecting our health system from even more dramatic stress."

What the 2G regulations mean for the population: Guests in restaurants and hotels need proof of vaccination or recovery.

A 3G plus rule had previously applied there after the clinic traffic light in Bavaria had turned red.

The 2G rule has been in effect in other areas since last week, for example in fitness studios and sports facilities, in theaters, cinemas and museums, zoos, baths, solariums and cable cars as well as in tourist rail and coach traffic.

You can find an overview of the rules for traffic light level red here.

Children under the age of twelve and people who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons are excluded from the 2G rule.

However, these then need a doctor's certificate and a negative test result.

Corona: New regulations also in Bavaria's discos

Party-goers also have to be prepared for a change in Bavaria's clubs and discos from Tuesday.

From next Tuesday, operators of night clubs in the Free State will have a choice, said Holetschek: “Either they establish a voluntary 2G-plus rule for their business or 2G applies.

An FFP2 mask must then be worn in the rooms. ”Bavaria also calls on the federal government to create“ a legal basis for mandatory 2G-plus in clubs and discos ”.

As the dpa learned on Friday from well-informed circles, services that are close to the body - such as hairdressers and foot care - are to be excluded from the stricter 2G requirement.

Unvaccinated people could still make appointments with a negative test result.

Söder announces another rule change: mask requirement also with 2G

On Sunday (November 14th) Markus Söder announced a further tightening of the currently applicable Corona rules in a press statement.

In the future, where the 2G rule applies, an FFP2 mask is also to apply.

Previously, the 2G rule made it possible to completely do without masks there.

In addition, there should be a daily quick test in retirement homes.

In day-care centers, tests should now take place three times a week instead of twice - as is already the case in schools.

The state government recommends booster vaccinations after just five months.

But that is not enough.

At the Corona summit next Thursday, Bavaria is campaigning for a nationwide 2G rule.

In addition, Söder calls for a compulsory vaccination for certain professions, 2G plus for all discos and clubs and a nationwide FFP2 mask requirement in local and long-distance traffic.

And according to his own statements, he wants to work very hard to ensure that there will be upper limits on people for events - especially in football, but also elsewhere.
