Method for cleaning dirty hats - without washing (@ emily_.mathis)
Do you also sometimes wonder how we cleaned things up before Tiktok came into our lives?
Using Tiktok has become a viral hit with millions of views - after revealing her trick on how to clean a visor cap without putting it in the washing machine.
The video, uploaded by user Emily Mathis @ emily_.mathis, garnered nearly 5 million views, and begins with filling a sink with hot water.
Next she puts in the dishwashing liquid, fabric softener and washing powder.
She then mixes everything together and soaks the hat in the sink - before rinsing it in cold water and removing all the soap from it.
In theory, the trick helps to wash away stains and sweat without damaging the hat inside the washing machine.

Many Tiktok users praised her tip, and some claimed they had already done it themselves: "I've been doing it this way for years," one article and another added: "I do it in the sink in my laundry room."
Others were less impressed.
Some claimed that the trick could damage the visor, claiming it was made of cardboard.
But other surfers said that in new hats the fronts are made of plastic or cotton, and can be machine washed.
So is it worth trying the trick?
"I will try it for sure," one wrote but another wrote: "The washing machine works great in cleaning hats as well."
