The Iranian oil industry has in the past been the victim of terrorist attacks by anti-government organizations, especially in the Ahwaz region, where the Arab-speaking population suffers discrimination from the Tehran authorities and some underground organizations are working to achieve local autonomy.
Just last month the Islamic Republic suffered a mishap that hit almost every gas station in the country.
In about 4,300 stations, the work caused by the Iranians by a cyber attack was disrupted.
Iran has officially pointed the finger of blame at Israel and the United States.
