The resolution also removes Gosar from two House committees in which he serves, Supervision and Reform and Natural Resources.
"It is completely unacceptable that the suggestion to kill a colleague is glorified in this way
," Cheney told a group of reporters on Wednesday.
"And I think it's a clear violation of House rules. This is a sad day," he added.

With the approval of the censorship, Gosar will have to be in the so-called "well" of the room, a place at a lower level in front of the speakers, while the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, Democrat of California, reads the resolution.
Except for the expulsion measure, censorship is considered one of the harshest punishments for a member of the House.
