Sarrebourg Moselle Sud: in the enchanted Christmas forests

2021-11-17T13:45:31.102Z

When the end of year celebrations come to the Pays de Sarrebourg, the forests are transformed. Adorned with lights, they come to life to host magical journeys interspersed with tales, sound and light shows, living cribs ... A magic to walk and share on this ...

Some claim that Santa Claus lives in Lapland.

Don't believe it: he surely prefers the verdant Moselle forests!

A kingdom of fir trees delicately dusted by winter with its flakes, and whose preserved splendor is appreciated as an anticipated gift.

An ideal place where young and old alike meet to experience surprising walks and hikes, guaranteed 100% pure air.

Priority for children and families with in particular the storytelling walks offered during the first 3 weekends of December (between the 3rd and the 19th) in the national forest of Saint-Quirin, starting from the priory church. We follow an interactive course of 2km guided by an actor revealing stories of Celtic origin on the Christmas theme, filled with elves, fairies, lumberjacks ... On the side of Fénétrange, other elves are organizing from November 28 to 9 January a treasure hunt and trace a luminous path of the Christmases of yesteryear offering, over 1.4km, to admire the architectural heritage, a sky of Meisenthal Christmas balls as well as a nativity scene. Elves always open, on the occasion of the 36th edition of Christmas in Walscheid from December 10 to 12, the enchanted Christmas path. Connecting the Chapel of Saint Léon to the Grotto,it crosses the road of Christmas characters and the forest! A night walk to the living nativity scene in Walscheid, by torchlight, is also scheduled for Saturday 11 December, in order to enjoy the enchanting nocturnal landscapes.

More beautiful at night

As for the older ones, they will enjoy taking part in the magical hikes: the second Christmas walk organized in Moussey from the Bataville gymnasium on Saturday December 4 for 8km (with a comforting meal on arrival) as well as the night hike of 7km taking place Tuesday, December 28 at Hommarting.

Finally, the March of Lights on Monday, December 27, departing from the Abreschviller tourist train, combines, on an 8km illuminated route, the discovery of the Deux Sarres territory, activities and a laser show.

In any case, it is prudent to bring good hiking shoes, a headlamp, your health pass (compulsory)… and to reserve your place.

In this season indeed, no one can resist the call of the forest - especially that of Moselle ...
