Teachers stay at home because of the mask requirement?

Officially only two students tested positive by Tuesday

“A mother wrote to me that my teachers apparently wanted to boycott something when they reported sick.

“The cause can also lie in the obligation to wear the masks.

He is at least happy that only two students tested positive for Corona on Monday, yesterday, Tuesday, there was not a single positive rapid test.

The editors are aware of at least two other secondary school students who tested positive at the weekend and are not included in the statistics.

After a week without a mask, one can certainly not speak of a super spreader lesson.

This supports Director Eder's theory that the infection rate in schools should not be the focus of the pandemic.

Eder emphasizes once more: On Monday of last week he never asked to take off the mask, only pointed out the fact that the removal will not be punished.

“How should I check that every student has one or two spare masks with them or that they even wear a new one every day?

I know from some students, but also adults, that the same ones are used for weeks.

So they are useless, ”says Eder.

In addition, the standard masks are much too big for ten-year-olds.

Some parents also criticize the fact that the 1.5 meter distances between the students in class cannot be maintained, as Eder claims. The headmaster referred to another announcement on Tuesday that he had warned to keep the distances between the individual tables. "But the children did not keep the distance - I would have changed my approach without the intervention of the Ministry of Education and Culture and reversed the matter."

However, not without making it clear: "At the schools we are beaten with all the measures because we cannot defend ourselves." A school principal is not an infection protection authority.

His approach, says Eder, is a “tightrope walk”.
