While the Oknin Couple in Prison - Erdogan's Journal Published Anti-Israel Travel Guide in Jerusalem | Israel today

2021-11-17T09:15:24.700Z

The Turkish newspaper Yeni Shapak published a guide ostensibly intended to serve Turkish pilgrims to the Israeli capital - after nearly two years in which they were not allowed to make the pilgrimage due to the corona virus.

The Turkish media has for many years been clearly pro-Erdogan, especially pro-Palestinian, and probably - above all - an extreme anti-Israel.

Recently, she echoed the "Arab spies in the service of Israel" affair, blatantly ignoring the arrest of the couple Natalie and the Oknin rebels - and this morning (Wednesday) the newspaper considered Erdogan's newspaper "Yeni Şafak" presented a new record of boldness - "Guide" Anti-Israel trips in Jerusalem.

The conspiratorial guide at an extreme level, on the verge of antisemitic - if not beyond that.

It is ostensibly intended to serve the Turkish pilgrims to the Israeli capital - at the end of nearly two years in which they were not allowed to make the pilgrimage, due to the corona virus.

"First and foremost, Jerusalem is not only meant to keep the mitzvah, but to help its Muslim citizens whose lives are becoming increasingly difficult every day under occupation," Bainy Shapak wrote without presenting a single proof of conspiracy.

Erdogan's publication also calls for the complete exclusion of Jewish businesses in Jerusalem.

"You must stay in a Muslim-owned hotel and shop with Muslim business owners," Bainy Shapak said, and even wrote a directive that might sound like a call for support for Palestinian terrorism: "Provide assistance to relatives of martyrs and prisoners."

From staying in a Muslim hotel to shopping with Muslim shopkeepers, from taking on debtors' debts and providing assistance to relatives of martyrs and prisoners.

All this is far more important than any slogan to be uttered and any speech.

It is necessary to organize such works quietly, deeply, without informing anyone.

These are the types of activities that everyone can participate in, far from the politics of the countries and the damn balance of the international system.

Given the arch-terrorists of Hamas living in Istanbul with Turkish citizenship, this call raises many questions about the security danger that could constitute a pilgrimage of Turks in Jerusalem, where those terrorists may take advantage of the serious loophole to aid Palestinian terrorism in general and Judea and Samaria in particular.

According to Yeni Shapak, "this activity should be organized quietly, away from the political situation between the countries and the damned balance of the international system."

In "Shapak wines", typically, Israel's sovereignty over Jerusalem and its being the capital of Israel is ignored - and it is even defined as "ours, that of the Muslims".

The newspaper also referred to Turkish anti-Israel organizations operating in Jerusalem, such as, for example, "Our Heritage" (Mirasımız).

Erdogan's journal calls on those organizations to establish a "school for the training of tour guides in Jerusalem."

In fact, Benny Shapak also uses hints about Turkey's ambitions in Jerusalem: "Even a long road begins in a few short steps," it read.

In Erdogan's publication, Israel was also accused of marking Turkish citizens as a danger.

"Everyone who passed by Ben Gurion Airport must have seen that the workers were causing problems, especially for citizens coming from Turkey," it was written.

As you may recall, in February of this year, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan decided to change the name of the Religious Affairs Authority, a government institution, to the "Omra and Jerusalem Affairs Authority." This is a very important authority in the Muslim routine of life in Turkey. Any Turk who wishes to observe the mitzvah of pilgrimage to Mecca and the state, both in the Hajj mitzvah that takes place between the eighth day and the twelfth day of the month of Dhu al-Hija and in the sense that it is a pilgrimage on other days of the year, is required to make an orderly registration with this authority. This is not Ankara's first step on this issue: as early as 2015, Erdogan announced the addition of Jerusalem to the Omra route.

According to a report at the time in "Shapak Wine", the Turks even prepared a tourism guide on the history of Jerusalem and its tourist sites.

At the beginning of the route, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock were placed, followed by Hebron, Bethlehem and the city of Jaffa - without any reference to the name Tel Aviv.

At the level of the sites within the cities, the Turks mentioned within Jerusalem the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, near the oil press, as well as the Tomb of David.

Beyond that, it is noted, among others, Nabi Musa, that the Muslims attribute the site to the tomb of Moses, and the clock tower in Jaffa erected by Sultan Abdul Hamid II.

Regarding the various sites throughout Israel, even then the Turks did not mention any affiliation with Israel at all.
