Wolfratshausen - Until November 28th, fascinating embossed prints on handmade paper can be seen in the art tower at Schwankl-Eck.

At the vernissage, the Wolfratshausen artist Hamit Cordan revealed why many of his works only develop their effect on second glance.

"Each print is hand-colored and unique," explained the 69-year-old.

Cordan makes no secret of his enthusiasm for constructions.

“The play, a dance of light and colors, is in the foreground.

A second look offers the chance to discover the possible variations hidden in my works, ”recommends the Wolfratshauser.

Despite many other activities that were necessary to make a living, Cordan always remained true to his art.

"A life without creativity would be unthinkable for him," said the historian Paul Hoser with admiration.

It is not only for him that the influences of his academic teachers can still be seen in Cordan's works today.

These include, for example, the surreal, luscious forms by the painter Mac Zimmermann, the geometric and color-complementary depictions by the painter Jürgen Reipka and the play of colors by the graphic artist Eduardo Paolozzi.

Opening times of the exhibition in the Wolfratshauser Kunstturm at Obermarkt 33: Saturday from 12 to 3 p.m., Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m.

In addition to large-scale paintings, the exhibition also includes new drawings and sketches.

Hamit Cordan owns German and European patents, the development of which enabled him to use new techniques with printing plates.

It is precisely here that the craftsmanship of the artist can be seen.

The result is pictures with constructive shapes that can be drawn with emphasis on lines or curves and that stand out with cheerful, mild colors.

That Cordan's works stimulate the imagination of the viewer was proven by the sometimes lively discussions among the vernissage visitors on the opening day.

Daniela Satzinger from the organizing cultural association Isar-Loisach thinks it is possible that the exhibition could be extended due to the great popularity.
