The opening of the Miami Beach branch of the salon, the international restaurant chain led by Eyal Shani, was accompanied by a mini-scandal, when the Israeli chef chose to promote the launch in a controversial English post.
Shani posted a picture of black beans on Instagram and wrote: "He felt real pain for all the Cubans who passed away and did not get to taste this black bean. The Miami salon - 11 days to open."
The review site and restaurant news "The Infatuation", commented on a post that caused a stir.
Shani was accused of being insensitive to generations of Cubans - a large and very important community in Miami - who had passed away, and was even attributed "unimaginable arrogance."

A news item posted on the site's Instagram account read: "Eyal is not a Cuban, and the living room is not a Cuban restaurant. You are given a minute to pick up your laptop, which we assume you threw along the room."
It should be noted that since the post was removed.
After much criticism, even in talkbacks to the original post, Shani apologized for his remarks and wrote in a new post: "I have great sympathy for the Cuban people and I support their struggle. I also appreciate the Cuban influence on local cuisine in Miami. As a tribute, I will prepare this black bean dish, which will be served Exclusively in the city. "
He further wrote: "I apologize if my words were not properly understood, as I used a translation app to help me with my English. Next, I will try to have my words translated as I planned."
