The first training of its kind took place this week in the cyber simulator at Gideonim base, near the Zrifin camp, where 48 expert soldiers in the field of cyber from the IDF trained alongside their counterparts in the Greek and Cyprus armies, an initiative of the ICT and Defense Division.
Despite the relatively small distance between the countries, this is the first defensive cyber training with these armies, so that they can assist on command day in the event of a crisis in this area - and lead to stronger international cooperation between the three countries.

"We have a responsibility, as part of the national campaign to protect the cyber dimension, to produce the best defense architecture," explains Lt. Gen. "Cyber will not come directly, and in 99.9 percent of cases the threat will come through servers in countries around the world. Therefore, there is a real need for everyone involved in defense to prepare partnerships for a rainy day in order to stop a threat to the State of Israel."

The ties between the IDF and the Greek and Cypriot armies are relatively strong, and two years ago an attempt was made to carry out a similar training, but the corona plague caused the planning to freeze. Feel the space in the grid and then increase the pace of the joint exercises.
Such an event creates for us a strategic partnership and each side understands the other side, which is critical in a future event.
