The actress and model Christy Giles, 24, and the Mexican designer Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, 26, went out to party last Saturday in Los Angeles and hours later their bodies were abandoned in front of hospitals in the Californian city by men masked people driving in cars without license plates.
Giles, originally from Alabama, was found dead outside the Southern California Hospital in Culver City.
Cabrales-Arzola is in critical condition after being abandoned a couple of hours later in front of the Kaiser Permanente medical center.
The pair of friends had gone to a party at the local Soho House, where the Mexican designer, who had studied at the University of Monterrey before emigrating to the United States, met a man with whom they planned to continue partying in the hills of Hollywood, according to The Independent newspaper.
The toxicological study carried out on Giles's body shows that he had heroin in his body, according to her husband, Jan Cilliers, who does not believe that either of the two women injected that drug voluntarily, suggesting that they could have been intoxicated for criminal purposes.
"I have all the messages that he exchanged with anyone else that night and he was texting Marcela saying 'let's get out of here' with the wide-eyed emoji," Cilliers said.
"They were probably sitting very close to each other," he added.
"Obviously I was worried about those guys they were with," she told Fox 11 Los Angeles.
“This story is by no means unique.
Since Saturday we have received several messages from other women with eerily similar stories, with the only difference being that Hilda and Christy died, ”Cilliers said on a page to raise funds to investigate what happened and bury Giles.
Cabrales-Arzola is "in a critical situation and fighting for his life," according to the page, "with little chance of recovery."
The model's mother of mother, Dusty Giles, 49, said: “My daughter would have fought like hell and from what I understand what the ER doctors and nurses talked about, there were no injuries or scratches or other evidence of a fight ”.

"The only way these men could keep my daughter and Hilda [held] for more than 10 hours is by giving them drugs, perhaps by tying them up," he added in a statement to The Sun newspaper.
"I think they drugged them," he added, "and probably raped them."
"If it was an accidental overdose why not call 911," he wondered, "why wait 10 hours until she is dead and leave her on the sidewalk, removing the license plates and covering her face."
