Homs-SANA The Black and White Quartet band revived a diverse classical musical evening amid a wide audience at the Palace of Culture

The Black and White Quartet troupe performed a diverse evening of classical music, amidst a wide audience at the Culture Palace in Homs.

The band presented a bouquet of various Arabic and international classical pieces by four great musicians: “Marwan Abu Jahjah on the viola instrument and Abdel-Gawad Haritani on the cello, while Nisreen Hamdan and Al-Samoul Al-Shamat played the violin.”

The evening's program varied between three paragraphs, which began with classical music, during which the band played 7 pieces by the world's leading musicians "Mozart, Handel, Vivaldi, Strauss, Puccini, Di Capua and Anderson."

In the field of oriental music, the quartet played two heritage pieces, “Hal Asmar Al-Loun, and When He Behind It” and the film music segment. The band also dedicated two songs to the souls of the late artists Sabah Fakhri and Zuhair Ramadan.

Al-Samaw’al Al-Shammat indicated in a statement to SANA Cultural that the evening comes within the program of the band’s tour of the governorates, where it will play in front of the audience of Deir Attia at the end of this month, pointing out that it presents a variety of music distributed academically with a mini band consisting of four instruments in a way that differs from the orchestra to present a type of music Unique for a gourmet audience.

The Black and White Quartet was founded in 2018 and has participated in several local and Arab festivals and parties.
