People spent two nights at the Kuznica border crossing in a hall instead of in a tent.

Belarus has now reported its first corona case in the refugee emergency shelter near the Polish border.

The Belarusian state agency Belta reported on Thursday, citing a representative from the Grodno region, that a person was sick in the logistics hall that has been converted into a sleeping warehouse.

The sick person was taken to a hospital.

1.5 million doses of a Chinese vaccine

In the accommodation, which opened on Tuesday, around a thousand people slept in a confined space on the floor.

Because rain threatens, more refugees are to be accommodated on the upper floor.

More and more people are now leaving the forest right on the border with Poland, as a reporter from the dpa news agency reported on site.

A vaccination station is now being opened in the logistics hall, where a Chinese vaccine is to be administered, according to the Belarusian side.

Belarus received around 1.5 million cans from the Chinese manufacturer Sinopharm just a few days ago.

Thousands of refugees have been waiting for days on the Belarusian-Polish border.

Europe accuses the authoritarian Belarusian ruler Alexander Lukashenko of having brought refugees from crisis regions to Poland's external border in an organized manner in order to put the European Union under pressure and to avenge itself for sanctions.
