From Friday, everyone who wants to be vaccinated needs an appointment for the vaccination center in Ebersberg.
That is why the rush of visitors for the corona vaccine on the day before is particularly large.
Ebersberg - The queue is long in front of the vaccination center in Ebersberg this Thursday.
Because only on this day is injected without an appointment.
The rush is correspondingly large: people are queuing up to the street, all the chairs in the waiting hall are fully occupied.
In the first hour and a half, the doctors at the vaccination center vaccinated 152 people, including 126 third-party vaccinations.
"You can clearly tell when someone comes for the first vaccination, the mood is completely different," says one employee.
With the first injection, people are still excited, fearful and stressed, from the second injection onwards the procedure is much more relaxed.
Big rush at the Ebersberger vaccination center: 52-year-olds spontaneously come for a second vaccination
Robert Viehhauser is among the spontaneous visitors: The 52-year-old from Haging (Frauenneuharting community) is there today for his second vaccination.
Viehhauser has not had any concerns so far, he says.
After all, he and his family are otherwise also vaccinated against diphtheria or tetanus.
"There is no question about vaccination," says Viehhauser.
He just put off the vaccination for a long time: "I just didn't get it because I have to look after my father at home," he says.
Big rush at the Ebersberger vaccination center: Doctors boost from the 5th month
Recently, employees sent people home if the second vaccination was only five months ago instead of six.
Since the Stiko's changed booster recommendation, however, all doctors have recently started boosting after just five months, says one employee.
And the offer is gladly accepted - one or the other had to be sent home because the second injection was only four months or even less ago.
The vaccination center is running at unusual full speed: "Many come with an appointment, but it is difficult to see through such a large rush," says one employee.
But at least there is currently enough vaccine available for everyone.
Big rush at the vaccination center: Already over 100 appointments per day have been allocated for the coming week
For the coming week there are so far a little over 100 assigned appointments per day, there is still room for improvement, they say.
However, the vaccination center fears that many will continue to come without an appointment, as the information has not yet reached everyone by then, said one employee: "I can imagine that we will have to send people away again."
