The lifts at the Brauneck mountain railway are currently inactive: the overhaul work will continue until December 3rd.

Then winter operation should start.

The demand for season tickets is subdued.

Lenggries

- The gondolas and lifts on the Brauneck have been put through their paces since November 8th: controls, ropes and supports as well as all the technology come under the microscope, says managing director Peter Lorenz.

"Because of the lockdown and the associated standstill, the material has not been used as heavily as usual in the past few months," he summarizes.

The TÜV was already there and gave the green light for the lifts on Schrödelstein and Milchhäusl.

Now they are working on the mountain railway.

Summer balance sheet: "It was tough at first, but then it went very well"

Lorenz is satisfied with the past summer.

“It was tough at first, but then it went very well,” he says, referring to the often bad weather.

“There was a lot of rain, especially in August.

But that has already happened in other years. ”On the other hand, September and October went very well.

"We were even above the cut."

Mountain railway guests "very cooperative"

With regard to the Corona requirements, the mountain railway guests were "very cooperative", reports Lorenz.

Keeping your distance and wearing a mask was not a problem.

“The hygiene measures have all worked.” But now we have to see “what the future will bring”.

No planning security for ski areas

Last winter was a total failure for the Bavarian ski areas.

And even now Peter Lorenz complains that there is no planning security.

From January 1st, children over the age of twelve will also need proof of vaccination or recovery for recreational sports.

Lorenz finds this "annoying": "You are allowed to ski until December 31st, after that you can no longer ski without corresponding proof."

"Hope there is no new lockdown"

That's why he complained to the State Chancellery.

His reasoning: The ski operation takes place in the open air, and children under twelve years of age do not need proof.

"But I don't think the complaint is of any use," says Lorenz.

He only hopes one thing: "That there is no new lockdown."

Brauneck prepared for the new 2G regulation

The Brauneck is prepared for the new 2G regulation.

Operations will resume on December 4th, regardless of whether there is snow or not.

The usual preparations for the ski season are under way.

“We have to see when we can start making snow,” says Lorenz.

"At the moment it looks like it will be colder from November 20th."

Zugspitz region is observed

His focus is currently on the Zugspitz region, where skiing will start on Friday - with 2G regulation.

"We watch how things are going there and how they do it," says Lorenz.

And companies with 2G regulation are already up and running in Austria.

Season ticket advance sales are slow

How about the pre-sale of the season tickets?

“It's just going tough,” says Lorenz.

People are unsettled because of the corona regulations.

Advance sales for the Alpenplus season ski passes at a reduced price have been extended to December 4th.

“We might even go beyond that,” Lorenz considers.

When buying a season ticket, you have to present proof of 2G.

Anyone who bought the card before this regulation must then show the proof when using the card.

"Otherwise it will be blocked."

Repayment promise for the Alpenplus season ski pass

As in the previous year, there is a promise to repay the Alpenplus season ski pass.

Should the ski operation in all Alpenplus areas be interrupted or permanently terminated due to an officially ordered closure in the period from December to March, the owner will receive a refund of 25 percent of the purchase price for each full calendar month missed.

However, a one-time processing fee of EUR 20 will be deducted.
