Chickeeduck, a Hong Kong children's clothing brand, intends to fully spread out of Hong Kong in the second half of 2022.
Zhou Xiaolong, the company’s shareholder and chief executive officer, was interviewed by the media afterwards. He stated that he had been harassed by unknown “evil forces” in the past 18 months. The branch has shrunk and the family has to return to 3 branches. SOGO does not renew the contract. We sell the stock and end our retail business."
He confessed that the closing of many stores directly affects the company's revenue, and Chickeeduck is at a loss.
In addition to the difficulty of operating the retail business, Zhou Xiaolong revealed that supply is also facing great difficulties.
After the mainland suppliers who had cooperated for many years were suppressed and could no longer supply the company, Zhou Xiaolong turned to cooperate with Indonesian suppliers.
But he revealed, "Indonesia will receive information from the sidelines, so our company will be like Apple at any time, asking us to pay for the goods at once, which puts us under a lot of financial pressure." He thinks there are various signs. It showed that some unknown forces did not want him to do business in Hong Kong anymore, so he made the decision to withdraw from the Hong Kong market, and no longer "hard-worked" and didn't want employees to be under pressure anymore.

Consider operating online stores and explore overseas markets
Chickeeduck has roots in Hong Kong for more than 30 years and was founded in 1990. In 1999, Zhou Xiaolong bought the company's equity.
He said that he would not give up the brand, and he still owns registered trademarks all over the world.
After ending the retail business in Hong Kong, it may consider operating in the form of an online store. At the same time, it will actively develop overseas markets such as the United Kingdom, Canada and other regions. The target customer group still hopes to be mainly Hong Kong people.
He also said that in the future, it is not ruled out that other businesses such as Playgroup or parent-child magazines under the Chickeeduck brand will not be ruled out, but he emphasized that it is still in the conception stage.
Zhou Xiaolong also revealed that the Tin Hau store might display the statue of the Goddess of Democracy and "refit" it into a museum with a statue of Liu Xiaobo.
When talking about whether he would immigrate, Zhou Xiaolong said that he had no plans to do so. "I don't even have a BNO, so I get a passport to the SAR."
