Anyone who will soon be celebrating their twelfth birthday will therefore no longer be able to take part in certain activities for several weeks.

Munich - The Corona * situation in Bavaria is serious.

Söder therefore has specific demands on the federal government.

Since Tuesday (November 16), the 2G rule has been in effect across Bavaria in almost all areas.

This means that only those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered are allowed access to restaurants, cultural and leisure facilities.

Under 12-year-olds are excluded from this rule.

At the moment you cannot be vaccinated against the coronavirus * because there is no approved vaccine for you.

According to the current status, children who will be twelve years old in the coming months must expect to be excluded from sports and music, from visits to restaurants or holiday stays for several weeks - and cannot do anything about it.

Corona situation in Bavaria: Children face the 2G rule on their twelfth birthday

This means that children from their twelfth birthday - because they have not been vaccinated - are excluded from everything to which only those who have been vaccinated and who have recovered (2G) have access.

Problem: It takes at least a few weeks after the twelfth birthday to achieve full vaccination protection.

However, according to the current status, there should not be any kind of delay.

“Due to the current massive infection rate, no three-month waiting period can currently be granted over twelve-year-olds,” said the Ministry of Health on Thursday when asked.

The exception is only valid until the end of the year

An exception to the 2G rule applies - limited to the end of the year according to the cabinet resolution - for 12- to 17-year-old schoolchildren "for their own sporting, musical or acting activities".

And recently this exception also applies to visits to restaurants and overnight stays in hotels and holiday apartments.

Only children under twelve are completely exempt from the 2G rule.
