- "Corona has been with us for almost two years now - and then something like this happens here." It was a thoroughly emotional statement that Cornelia Wutz made at the end of the most recent meeting of the main and finance committee.

The councilor of the citizens' association referred to the Corona case in the area around the market council.

Corona sufferer takes part in meeting despite symptoms - health officer outraged

As reported, a senior city hall employee attended the October meeting despite symptoms.

On the day of the meeting there was a negative rapid test result, but a positive one on the following day.

A subsequent PCR test then provided the certainty of a corona infection.

In retrospect, all of this is “incomprehensible” to Wutz.

If there are symptoms of illness, there is generally the "urgent recommendation" to do a PCR test.

Only that offers the security to continue to participate in social life.

Not adhering to it is nothing more than “Russian roulette”.

The vaccination protection, according to Wutz, plays "no role at all".

At the time of the meeting it had long been known that vaccination breakthroughs could occur.

"I also find it remarkable that some local council colleagues think it is fair that the employee wore an FFP2 mask," said Wutz.

She was referring to a statement by Sandra Rößle (CSU / non-party) in the local newspaper.

With corona symptoms in session: "Carefree handling of my health"

According to Wutz, however, it would have been “fair” if the market council had been informed about the employee's symptoms before the meeting: “Personally, I would have gone home immediately.” Theoretically, there could be high-risk patients among the market councils.

In addition, you have a role model function: "Personally, I feel that this is careless handling of my health."

In Wutz's opinion, hygiene protection was not observed during the meeting and no adequate ventilation breaks were made.

And after the corona infection became known, only sparse information flowed and questions were not answered - for example, whether the councils should have gone into quarantine.

Wutz's reaction is no coincidence: She works as the chief secretary of the medical director and Corona officer, Dr, Andreas Knez, in the Weilheim hospital.

She works, as she herself says, in a “highly sensitive area” and the medical staff is at the limit of their abilities in view of the pandemic: “I am aware that some find what I am saying ridiculous.

But I don't think so ”, Wutz let her committee colleagues know: The behavior of the town hall top in this specific case would“ trample on the work of my colleagues in the hospital ”.

She could not reconcile the nonchalant attitude of the Rathausspitze regarding the subject with her speaker position.

After corona affair: health officer angry - "work in hospital trampled underfoot"

Mayor Frank Zellner (CSU) regretted Wutz's resignation as health officer. "That is a shame, Conny, because you were very valuable with your expertise at the point." Zellner did not practice self-criticism: "It was the way it was." Talking about hygiene measures. You cannot ask every participant about any symptoms before the session. “It's not that I intentionally want to endanger someone here - really not,” stressed Zellner - to which Wutz promptly replied: “Yes, I really hope so. That's what I actually assume. "

Wutz again appealed to reason: “If I have symptoms, then I stay at home.” And addressed directly to Zellner: “I expect a manager to tell an employee that too.

This is common practice in our work. ”In the past, one might have been a bit more tolerant of a cold - but now one is deep in a pandemic:“ It's not earlier now, ”stated Wutz.
