Wolfratshausen - New leadership for the fishermen: At the annual meeting, the members of the Wolfratshausen District Fisheries Association elected a board.

The long-time club boss Karl Taschner did not run for reasons of age and was appointed honorary chairman in recognition of his decades of work.

His successor is the previous vice and city councilor Helmuth Holzheu.

The previous assessor Michael Knoch was elected as his deputy.

"With the new board of directors, the association will endeavor to meet the sharply increased challenges for the fishing industry in the future," reports the new boss in a press release.

Wolfratshausen: Fish are losing habitats - this is how fishermen want to help

The district fishing association declares war on the loss of habitat and the deteriorating quality.

"In close collaboration with the Bavarian fishing associations and authorities as well as the landlords", the Wolfratshauser want to achieve improvements.

"It should be mentioned here that through the consistent commitment of the board and committed members of the association together with the Bavarian State Fisheries Association in the approval of the additional water extraction from the Loisach at the Weidach power plant for the construction of the Wolfratshausen surf wave, extensive official requirements were achieved in favor of the local fish population", reports Holzheu.

Fishing in Wolfratshausen demands more environmental protection

In addition, at the request of the association, the Weilheim water management authority included a de-landfall of the Loisach-Altwassers near Beuerberg in the construction program.

"Here, the former Loisach arm, which is threatened with silting, is to be desludged in favor of the fish population and its connection to the river is to be preserved", the chairman explains the measure.
