The Syrian-Pakistani Parliamentary Friendship Committee in the People's Assembly discussed with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Damascus Saeed Muhammad Khan today ways to strengthen and develop parliamentary relations between the two countries.

Chairman of the Committee Dr. Munther Ibrahim stressed the importance of the historical and brotherly Syrian-Pakistani relations and the common interests that bind the peoples of the two countries and the need to enhance economic, educational and medical cooperation and trade exchange between them, expressing his appreciation for the positions of the Pakistani government and people and for Syria’s support in international forums and for the facilities provided by the Pakistani government to the Syrian community and for the return of flights between the two countries.

For his part, the Pakistani ambassador affirmed his country's continuation to stand by Syria and provide support to its people in various fields, especially humanitarian and relief, under the conditions of the unjust economic siege imposed on it, pointing to the increase in scholarships for Syrian students from 10 to 100 scholarships.

The Pakistani ambassador pointed out his country's aspiration to strengthen and develop bilateral relations in various fields, expressing his happiness to see Syria recover at various levels.
