The theater of the Arab Cultural Center in Al-Aziziyah, Aleppo, hosted a ceremony honoring the participants in the “Farah Sees the Light” initiative, which included musical and lyrical performances and a theatrical performance with the participation of a group of blind people.
Regarding the ceremony, which was held in cooperation with Al-Ihsan Association and the Syrian Society for the Prevention of Blindness, Jihad Ghanima, head of the center, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that these activities aim to build bridges of cooperation between the group who lost their sight and the rest of society, pointing to the role of the Aleppo Culture Directorate and its message aimed at promoting knowledge. The reality of the blind and motivating them to activate their role in society in all fields.
Yasser Shahrour, one of the coordinators of the Farah Sees the Light initiative, spoke about its importance because it includes a variety of cultural and social activities, noting that today's celebration is a tribute to the winners of the table tennis sport for the blind, pointing out that the theatrical performance presented during the event included a message confirming that the blind person is a capable and effective person and has his role and function. Not dependent on others.
Among those honored during the event, who participated in presenting its artistic and cultural paragraphs, Reham Suleiman drew attention to the importance of encouraging the blind to engage in various activities, not to surrender to their reality, to continue to work and to develop capabilities.
Hani Habbo, who presented a variety of songs, pointed out the need for the blind to continue their training in all artistic, cultural and scientific fields.
