The number of new infections is skyrocketing, but the district council still meets in attendance.
That displeases the FDP.
District
- The FDP criticizes the fact that the meetings of the district council continue to take place in person and that there are no hybrid meetings, i.e. with the possibility that district councils can connect online from home or from their office. “The corona numbers are higher than ever. We are in the fourth wave of the pandemic; the situation is getting worse every day. The most sensible measure now is to avoid unnecessary contacts. Apparently that doesn't apply to politics, ”criticizes FDP district councilor Katarina Diem. With 3G and a mask requirement, the district administrator lulls himself into apparent security that can only really be achieved through hybrid sessions and session streaming.
The spokesman for the District Assembly FDP, Manfred Riederle, points out that the District Assembly decided in September, among other things, that hybrid meetings are only possible in the event of an infectious or otherwise restricted permissibility of face-to-face meetings of the District Assembly and its committees for this period .
The occurrence of this condition should be determined by a majority of the district council in a meeting.
In view of the daily new highs, Riederle demands: “The technical prerequisites for hybrid sessions have been created.
Nevertheless, the majority in the district assembly has so far rejected this modern approach in the Munich district assembly. ”That has to change.
In addition, the meetings should also be streamed publicly for citizens.
