Saxony-Anhalt's Minister of Health, Petra Grimm-Benne, has announced the introduction of a comprehensive 2G rule for interiors in the state.
She wanted to propose to the cabinet to tighten the regulations within the closed rooms in certain areas, said the SPD politician on Thursday after consultations with the federal and state governments.
The so-called 2G option model is therefore to be changed into an obligation.

In the evening, the cabinet should meet in a special meeting and discuss the measures.
According to the minister, in future only those who have been vaccinated and recovered will have access to leisure facilities and entertainment venues, senior meeting places, public festivals and indoor catering.
Events of 50 people or more and non-professional accommodation should then also be subject to the 2G rule.
In Saxony-Anhalt there is currently a continuous 3G obligation indoors (access for vaccinated, convalescent and negatively tested people).

The federal and state governments had previously agreed in a video link that if the hospitalization rate exceeds 3, only those who have been vaccinated or recovered (2G) will have access to events and the catering trade.
The hospitalization rate is the number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within one week.
If a value of 6 is exceeded, the federal states should also prescribe test certificates or other measures in certain facilities for vaccinated and convalescent people (2G plus).
If the threshold of 9 is exceeded, the federal states should then be able to adopt tougher measures in parliament.
