Holzkirchen - Holzkirchen will receive more than 200,000 euros from the Free State of Bavaria's “Inner Cities Revitalize” fund.

Three projects in the market town are planned.

As Holzkirchen's market builder Florens Hintler recently informed, the market community can look forward to a financial injection of 200,000 euros. The money comes from the special fund "Revitalize Inner Cities", which was set up by the state government in order to mitigate the consequences of the corona pandemic. Three projects were approved, all of which were unanimously approved by the municipal councils, whereby the competition for the redesign of the marketplace was seen as particularly positive.

As Hintler explained, the 100 million euro program primarily supports short-term measures that contribute to the further development of places in terms of urban planning or to rent vacant spaces in order to restructure the retail trade, as well as long-term structural and investment measures to revitalize inner cities.

"Because the program was launched at relatively short notice, we knitted an application for six measures with a hot needle, three of which were finally approved," added Mayor Christoph Schmid.

The funding amount is 80 percent in each case.

  • In detail, a further development concept is to be created for the center of Holzkirchen, which, among other things, looks at the inner-city Münchner Straße.

Of the estimated costs of 40,000 euros, 32,000 euros will be assumed.

  • For around 60,000 euros (funding: 48,000 euros) it is planned to rent vacant rooms for two years, which will then be made available to non-profit organizations or artists.

Home office spaces for coworking are also conceivable.

Although vacancy is currently not that big a problem, as Schmid said, there is still potential for development: “Even if not in the first row, we have ideas for this.

The aim is not to just put a picture in the shop window for a few weeks, but to provide impetus for permanent use. "

  • The largest item is devoted to preparing and holding a competition to redesign the marketplace - including an idea section for the rear area of the Herdergarten.

In addition to the estimated costs of 150,000 euros, there is a whopping grant of 120,000 euros.

"A great thing. I hope, especially when it comes to the marketplace. After all, that's been an issue for years, "said Ulrike Küster (Greens) about the proposals. "The implementation of the structural measures is not required, but that of the competition is," Hintler answered Josef Sappl senior's question. (CSU), who wanted to know whether pressure would then arise from the subsidies to finally implement the plans for the marketplace.

Like Sappl, Elisabeth Dasch (SPD) said: “We have talked a lot about the marketplace, but haven't implemented anything yet.

That would now be the opportunity to finally and quickly do something. ”Birgit Eibl (FWG) asked, even if there was a lot of pressure, not to forget public participation in the competition.

“The pressure doesn't hurt us.

Let's look forward to 200,000 euros and we will soon implement it for the benefit of Holzkirchen ”, summarized the mayor.
