At about 11 pm, a bus overturned accident at the entrance of the Tai Wai section of Tai Po Road, Tai Wai, near Tsing Sha Road. In the accident, one person died on the spot and at least 11 others were injured.
The front of the KMB involved was severely damaged and the front glass shattered. Firefighters set up a triage area for the wounded at the scene. Some of the wounded were carried on a stretcher bed by ambulances. The wounded were sent to Wales Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. .
Sources at the scene stated that the accidental bus was the 88K KMB route, and the incline section at the scene was not the original route. It is suspected that the bus was hitting the rocky side due to the wrong way.
