Kyodo News quoted relevant government sources on the 18th that Lin Fang was talking with Wang Yi and expressed concern about the continued entry of Chinese official ships into the waters of the Diaoyu Islands (known as the Senkaku Islands in Japan).
A press release issued on the website of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that, in addition to the situation near Diaoyutai Island, Lin Fangzheng also expressed serious concerns about the East China Sea, the South China Sea, Hong Kong and Xinjiang, and mentioned the importance of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
