Parents sometimes pay over a third more than before.

Some local councils found this too massive.

Münsing - The fees in the Heinrich-Obermaier-Kindergarten of the Münsing community in Degerndorf will increase on January 1, 2022. The majority of the community council approved the proposal of treasurer Hubert Kühn in the most recent meeting.

The user fees have not been increased since September 2016, said Kühn.

But now the circumstances called for an adjustment.

Since April 2019, all kindergarten children have been granted the state fee reduction of 100 euros per month.

For the municipality this meant a deficit of 310,000 euros in 2020.

Cost coverage, according to Kühn, would mean an additional EUR 400 per child per month on average on top of the current fees.

Complete cost recovery is as good as impossible for social reasons.

Nevertheless, in his opinion, “moderate and socially acceptable adjustments should be made from time to time, also to express appreciation for the staff”.

This moderate adjustment means 18 to 38 percent compared to the previous prices.

The longer booking times would be subject to a lower percentage increase, explained Kühn.

"Socially acceptable" increase of 40 percent?

A Green politician thinks that is too violent

Parents currently pay 95 euros for three to four hours of care, and 140 euros for six to seven hours.

The increase was discussed with the kindergarten management and the parents' council, said Kühn.

Pastor Kirchbichler had also been informed that the church kindergarten St. Georg is usually aligning its fees.

The Green Councilor Christine Mair said that 38 percent higher fees were "not moderate" for her terms.

Tobias Eckart (Free Voters) would rather have a slight annual adjustment.

CSU Councilor Helge Strauss, on the other hand, said that quality has its price.
