The Russian Foreign Ministry published diplomatic correspondences between Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the Foreign Ministers of France and Germany regarding the possibility of holding a new meeting in the Normandy format, in response to false information and news spread on this subject by other countries about Moscow's position on holding the meeting.
And the ministry said in a statement today, reported by Sputnik agency: “Recently, Russia’s position and its role in the Ukrainian internal settlement have been distorted, and the directions for holding a possible ministerial meeting in the Normandy format have been distorted. To prevent further speculation, the Russian Foreign Ministry decided to publish and disclose the sources.”
The statement added: "Moscow is awaiting the reaction of Paris and Berlin to the publication of Lavrov's correspondence with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drianuma and his German counterpart Heiko Maas, and what needs to be talked about about Russia's preparations for negotiations in the Normandy format."
