The Macau Special Administrative Region Government announced today (18th) that it will launch a real-name registration program for bus passengers, which will be implemented on the 27th of this month. All Macau Pass cards used for public buses require real-name registration.
Starting from December 11, the Macau Pass must be registered with the real name to enjoy the fare discount, otherwise, the fare will be deducted by 6 yuan per trip.
As for the payment of car fares by cash or electronic cards without real-name registration, the authorities will launch health code travel records and require passengers to record them.
The Macau SAR Government stated that “in order to cooperate with the epidemic prevention work, we will better track passengers who have been on the same public bus with patients diagnosed with the new crown virus”, and communicated and coordinated with the “Macau Pass” and the two bus companies to implement the “Bus Real-Name Registration Scheme” .

Each mobile phone number can register up to 3 pass cards
Macau Pass card holders need to log in to the online registration platform to fill in the Macau Pass card number, cardholder’s name and mobile phone number, and after completing the SMS verification, they can go to more than 130 Macau Pass devices with the Macau Pass card. Tap the card to "activate" to complete the real-name registration process.
The maximum number of general Macau Pass cards that can be registered for each mobile phone number is 3, and there is no registration validity period for Macau Pass cards registered with a local mobile phone number.
The registration period will officially begin at 10 am on November 27.
The authorities will then tighten the regulations from 0:00 on December 11th. All Macau Pass cards that have not completed real-name registration and have not been tapped will be deducted by 6 yuan per trip when they are taken on public buses until they are completed. Only after the real-name registration process can enjoy the car fare discounts.
Elderly card, student card, disability card, automatic value-added card, third-stage consumer card, and bus code, no need to register separately because they have real names.
In addition, after Macau is about to launch a health code travel record measure, the authorities will gradually require the payment of fares by cash, electronic cards that cannot be real-named, and passengers who have not registered with their real names to be recorded through the system.
