Good mood in the ECHING construction committee: On Tuesday, the councils gave the green light to the building application for the new Günzenhausen fire station.

Eching / Günzenhausen

- Rarely before has one seen such satisfied expressions when discussions about the new fire station in Günzenhausen were on the political stage.

After discussions about costs, a change of architects and a number of revisions to the plans, everything is now largely wrapped up: The Echingen building committee unanimously approved the building application on Tuesday.

What's in it

The building will be erected in an L-shape - with external dimensions of around 29 by 17.50 meters or 16.50 by 12 meters.

It receives a monopitch roof that is covered with an aluminum system and equipped with a photovoltaic system.

Three emergency vehicles can be parked

Three emergency vehicles can be parked in the fire station.

There will also be 18 parking spaces for cars and 14 bicycles on the site.

According to current estimates, the construction cost will amount to around 3.2 million euros.

The drainage plan has to go a little further: the waste water association needs to be discussed in detail about the relocation of the sewer pipe on the new pedestrian and cycle path along the state road.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

One is already a good step further in the water rights proceedings.

As the head of the building authority Thomas Bimesmeier explained, after a video conference with the district administration and the water management authority there is an agreement on the principles: The two retention troughs are therefore sufficient.

Therefore one can reduce the circumference when expanding the southern drainage ditch.

It is no longer necessary to cross the state road.

There is also agreement that the fire station and the sports facilities can be combined into one application.

Discharge in the roadside ditch is not an option

"It is important that nothing drowns there," emphasized Bimesmeier. The "flood evidence" will be based on a 30-year heavy rain event. To do this, the number and capacity of the cisterns would have to be increased and a separate drainage trough had to be planned. In any case, it is not possible to derive it via the road ditch. The later planned residential area is also taken into account, as the building authority manager explained when asked by Christoph Gürtner (FW). As with the FFW house, "on-site solutions" are being planned for the infiltration. An introduction into the roadside ditch is not an option.

Regarding the time horizon, Bimesmeier said after a question from Georg Bartl (CSU): The development plan is still open to the public until November 24th.

Depending on the extent of the comments received, the resolution of the articles of association could be passed in December.

If everything goes smoothly, things can start in 2022.
