Against the background of the disturbing data on the increase in assimilation published in Israel Today, the Rosh Yehudi organization presents a survey that reveals the continuation of the trend. From the Israelis

A survey conducted by a survey institute initiated by the Rosh Yehudi Center reveals additional data on the danger of assimilation, the dimensions of which were published about two weeks ago in "Israel Today", and which show that there are about 100,000 couples today that one of the spouses is not Jewish.

The survey, which sought to examine the degree of affinity for the Jewish tradition among the non-religious population in Israel, showed that only 29 percent of the public insist on a Jewish marriage according to the religion of Moses and Israel.

While 29.3 percent answered that it is necessary for their children's wedding to take place in a traditional Jewish way, based on Jewish law, 25.1 percent answered that it is important and 13.2 percent answered that it is only moderately important.

26.8 of those surveyed answered that a Jewish wedding is not important to them, and 5.6 percent answered that they are completely opposed to a traditional Jewish wedding.

When asked about the respondent's wedding itself, 34 percent said it was necessary, 22.9 percent said it was important, 9.4 percent that it was moderately important, 23.1 percent that it was not important, and 10.6 percent said they did not want a traditional Jewish wedding based on halakhah.

However, it seems that there are still Jewish ceremonies that are critical to the average Israeli, even if he is not religious or ultra-Orthodox. 47.8 percent said it was important for them to circumcise their children, and another 25 percent said it was important. 8.4 said it was moderately important, 11.5 percent said it was not important to them, and 7.3 percent said they were against circumcision. By the way, 64 percent of the public indicated that it is important for them to hold a bar or bat mitzvah for their children, of which 24 percent answered that it is necessary.

Even with regard to the recent journey of the Israelis, it seems that Judaism is still a top priority. 66.4 percent of those surveyed said it was important to hold a Jewish funeral for a deceased family member, compared to 16.8 percent who said it did not matter and only three percent said they refused to do so. 36 percent of those surveyed said it was necessary to perform mourning customs in memory of a deceased family member - Shiva and Kaddish, along with another 25.6 percent who said it was important and 13 percent who said it was moderately important. 15.7 of those surveyed said that this was not important and three percent answered that it was by no means important to them that this be done in a traditional Jewish way.

"As the survey data show, very high percentages of the secular-traditional public consider the Jewish covenant a necessary thing, because the existence of the covenant is enshrined in the Israeli national consciousness and this is our identity," said Israel Zeira, chairman of the Rosh Yehudi Center. From the data that emerges in the survey, we see that the fund of the Jewish wedding has decreased, due to the change that the couple and family lifestyle has undergone in recent years.

"We have been working for about 20 years to reach everyone who wants to hear and get closer, in order to deepen their Jewish identity, the importance of the family unit in Judaism, a Jewish relationship and a Jewish home. We operate in the heart of Tel Aviv, and see the great thirst for Judaism in the" secular " Hope that our activities will open the door for many more in the State of Israel to continue to draw closer to each other and to Gd, and thus restore to the guest of the Jewish holy couple the importance it needs.
