District - In the past few weeks, new corona infections in the Ostallgäu district and the city of Kaufbeuren have risen sharply. Although the number of employees in the health department was further increased, not all sick people can be called on the same day. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the 7-day incidence is currently 837.2 for the district and 555.3 for the city of Kaufbeuren. An end to the high number of infections is not yet in sight.
"The values are consistent and up-to-date, as we immediately enter every positive case reported to us in the relevant systems and pass it on to the Bavarian LGL and the Robert Koch Institute (RKI)," said the health authority in the Ostallgäu district office.
However, due to the large number of new cases, it is currently no longer possible to call and inform all infected people on the same day.
Over 600 people still need to be contacted.
The health department therefore urges you to refrain from inquiries, as faster processing is currently not possible and an answer costs valuable time.

The rules are simple
“We will contact all those infected. However, as things stand at the moment, this can take several days. The rules of conduct until then are simple and explained in a few basic principles:
From the onset of symptoms or, in the case of asymptomatic persons, a positive PCR test, it is necessary to go into quarantine at home for 14 days.
If symptoms occur later, contact your doctor or the medical on-call service 116 117, ”explains the health authority. The health department will call you within 14 days.
According to the Ministry of Health's prioritization strategy, contact persons are no longer notified by the health department, but by the infected person himself. The health department can thus concentrate on situations with a high potential for infection or with the involvement of people belonging to a risk group.
In order to keep the current difficult situation under control, the health department is trying to increase staff from all sides.
Around 50 employees are currently working on the case investigation (the so-called Contact Tracing Team - CTT), including support from the district office, the armed forces and the police.
