2022 marks the 85th anniversary of PolyU. The school will hold a media lunch today (18th) and announce the launching ceremony of the school celebration at the end of the month.

The school reiterated at the meeting that in order to encourage undergraduates to participate in scientific research, PolyU launched the "Undergraduate Research Program" (URIS) for the first time in 2021. Each project funded RMB 50,000 to RMB 100,000. So far, there have been more than 110 projects. Successfully passed the approval, which involved research in different areas, including applied mathematics, electrical engineering, etc., and approved more than HK$5 million in funding.


PolyU pointed out that it also provides a series of support for participating students, including: automatically becoming a member of the "Undergraduate Institute of Science and Innovation", receiving priority allocation of hostel places to stay in the "Science and Innovation Academy" of Ho Man Tin Dormitory, and participating in seminars on different topics And the sharing session of the resident researchers.

In addition, PolyU launched the "Greater Bay Area PolyU Science and Technology Innovation 2025" plan from September this year. The school aims to nurture more than 300 innovative seeds and 20 deep technology start-ups every year. It is hoped that 25 will be cultivated in the Greater Bay Area in the next few years.
