The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the frigate "Admiral Gorshkov" conducted another test of the hypersonic "Zirkon" missile as part of the final cycle of tests of missile weapons of this type.
The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement today, "The missile targeted a naval target in the waters of the White Sea in northern Russia... According to objective monitoring data, the hypersonic missile's flight conformed to the specified parameters and the target was directly hit."
The statement indicated that to ensure the implementation of the launch and the closure of the area, a group of surface ships and naval aviation aircraft of the Northern Fleet were deployed.
On the fourth of this month, the Russian Navy tested for the first time the hypersonic missile Tsirkon from the Severodvinsk nuclear submarine.
