The Russian Defense Ministry announced that three military transport planes will evacuate more than 380 citizens of Russia, member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Ukraine and Afghanistan from Afghan territory.
According to a statement by the ministry today, carried by the Russia Today website, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, commissioned by President Vladimir Putin, instructed the organization of the evacuation of Russian and foreign citizens from Afghanistan.
The statement indicated that the three planes took off from Chkalovsky Airport near Moscow to Kabul, each carrying 36 tons of Russian humanitarian aid for the Afghan people, pointing out that on board each plane was a group of military doctors with medical equipment and medicines necessary to provide the necessary medical assistance to the citizens who were evacuated. their evacuation.
The statement stated that the three military transport planes are currently unloading humanitarian aid and handing it over to the Afghan side at Kabul airport.
On August 25, the Russian Ministry of Defense carried out the evacuation of about 400 people, citizens of Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan from the territory of Afghanistan, by military transport planes.
